Pre-season testing is over and the season is just two short weeks away. Testing usually gives us a good idea of which team has the most reliable car and which team was able to collect the most data from their cars during the test, by looking at how many laps each team ran over the past two weeks.
Mercedes was the only team to break into four-digit territory this year, recording a whopping 1189 in Barcelona. That’s nearly 200 laps more than Ferrari, which logged 997 over eight days. Renault came close to the experience of Ferrari, logging 961. Toro Rosso also proved that the Honda power unit appears to be more reliable than previous years.
Unsurprisingly, Williams rounds up the bottom of the charts with just 567 over both tests, having skipped out on the first half of week one. Racing Point also completed far less laps than their competitors, completing 625 in total, which is more than 200 less than Red Bull’s total.
