The Monaco GP joins the list of cancelled sporting events, as F1 management confirms that the event will not be held in 2020. The Dutch GP and Spanish GP have also been postponed.

The Monaco GP is a race with a deep history. The F1 cars have raced around the narrow streets of the French principality every year since it was added to the calendar in 1955. The 2020 season will be the first-ever cancellation of the event. It was originally scheduled for the end of May.

Both the Dutch Grand Prix and the Spanish Grand Prix were postponed, joining the races that were supposed to be held in Bahrain, China and Vietnam. The current hope is that the events will be rescheduled later in the season.

The F1 summer break has been moved to free up weekends to fit the missing races. Currently, the earliest possible start date for the 2020 Formula One season is June 7 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic situation constantly evolving, even the future of those events may be called into question in the coming weeks.
