The creator of the popular Fake Charlie Whiting Twitter account has confirmed that he will be abandoning the account following the passing of the real Charlie Whiting. The creator has reflected on his experiences with Whiting in an emotional final Tweet.
The account included a variety of Tweets, including comedic takes on motorsport events. Charlie Whiting did not have an official Twitter account but did communicate occasionally with the creator of the fake account. Mark McArdle, the man behind the “Verified 100% Authentic Fake” account, published the following statement:
