Renault has launched an appeal against the Haas F1 Team for the legality of their car. After a strong performance from Romain Grosjean at the Italian Grand Prix, the two teams are now tied in the World Constructors’ Championship for P4.

Although it’s unclear about the specifics of the appeal, it’s known that Renault have approached the FIA stewards for regarding a component on the Haas car that the team feels may not be legal. The component in question is believed to have also been on the car in Belgium, but Renault opted to wait until this race to complain.

While the complaint would likely relate to both cars on the team, Renault decided to file the complaint against Romain Grosjean, since he finished the highest of the two Haas drivers in the Italian Grand Prix.

The rule violation is suspected to be a small violation on the leading edge of the floor, but it’s not clear what. More detail should be revealed when the stewards finish their investigation and make their decision.
