Someone behind the scenes in Formula One was clearly too lazy to get some new podium marker boards printed. Many eagle-eyed TV viewers noticed that the boards were from the previous season, as they featured Formula One’s old logo.

Over the winter break, Formula One underwent a rebrand as part of Liberty Media’s bid to better the sport. Part of this rebrand was a new digital-friendly and modern logo. The new logo was revealed at the last race of the 2017 season in Abu Dhabi, much to the disappointment of fans who loved the old logo.

Despite having nearly four months of notice, someone must have forgotten to order new podium marker boards because they used the old ones at the Australian Grand Prix. This is a bit odd considering Liberty Media is always talking about creating a unified brand image. I guess you can’t do everything right.
