The Formula One teams are discussing the possibility of extending the first pre-season test of the year to Friday amid predictions of poor weather conditions at the circuit. Cool temperatures and rain already hindered the first day of testing on Monday.

The temperatures are expected to remain low until Thursday, with rain Wednesday and continuing into Thursday. Temperatures hover just above freezing and there is a possibility of snow in the forecast for Wednesday. Wind could also play a factor on Wednesday, with steady wind of over 20km/h expected.

The teams discussed the option to extend the first pre-season test an extra day to Friday, while canceling Wednesday. However, an agreement has not yet been reached due to scheduling conflicts. Williams has booked the circuit on Friday for their filming day and Ferrari has arranged to do the same on Saturday, making it impossible to schedule a testing day during those times.

The decision could be made to add an additional testing day to the second pre-season test at the circuit next week. The test starts Tuesday, but the Monday is believed to be available with no scheduled activities on the circuit that day.

Any decision for changes to the pre-season testing schedule need to be made unanimously by all ten teams. No decision was reached on Monday and talks are expected to continue into Tuesday.
