Antonio Giovinazzi will officially replace Pascal Wehrlein for the remainder of the 2017 season, as Wehrlein prepares to undergo exercises and training to fully recover from his back injury during the Race of Champions event in Miami during the winter break.
This is an April Fool’s joke, not a legitimate headline. However, on the serious side of things, Giovinazzi will be on standby in China incase Wehrlein is still unfit to drive the car for the race.
