Force India has decided to make a bold livery change ahead of the 2017 Formula One season as a result of a new sponsorship agreement with BWT. Force India will be the only team to feature pink as their main livery color since Brabham in 1992.

The livery comes soon after the team announced a sponsorship agreement with Best Water Technology Group, Europe’s leading water technology company. Along with the brand new livery, both of the team’s drivers will also be changing their helmet design to fit with the new sponsor.

Vijay Mallya, the team principal and managing director of the Sahara Force India Formula One team says that the livery shows the strength of the new partnership and it shows how much the team has grown:

“The arrival of BWT in Formula One is huge news and represents one of the most significant partnerships in our ten year history. It’s a sign of how far we have come as a team with our strong results and completes a solid commercial performance over the winter. For 2017 our cars will sport a vibrant new colour scheme with a smart matte finish. Changing the colour of our cars is an indication of the strength of this new partnership and a real statement of intent from BWT as they begin their relationship with the sport of Formula One.”

BWT’s new partnership is aimed to raise brand awareness of the Australian-based company around the world, since Formula One is played out on the global scale. The company’s CEO Andreas Weißenbacher said that the new partnership was an important part of BWT’s brand-globalization plan.
