Clarkson so a world renowned broadcaster, journalist and writer known by everyone in the motorsport and automotive world. He is most well known for hosting BBC’s Top Gear since 1988. After being involved in an altrication with the show’s producer, Clarkson was fired from the BBC. This didn’t end his career however, as he went to start a similar program on Amazon Prime called The Grand Tour with his long time co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond. The show has received great reviews and much success in only its first season. The trio also created a new social media type network for car enthusiasts called DRIVETRIBE.

“There’s no question that the Americans have a sense of theatre about them,” explained Clarkson when discussing the acquisition of Formula One by American media company Liberty Media. “Think whatever you do of NASCAR, they can fill 250 000-seater stadiums, which no other sport on earth can do.”

Clarkson hopes that the sport will have bright days ahead under new ownership because of the new blood in the sport management. The new season starts in Australia at the end of March, while the pre-season testing starts in Barcelona in just a few weeks.
