According to reports, the Haas F1 Team has single-handedly prevented Force India from collecting their 2016 prize money during the winter break. The decision could give the team some financial issues during the pre-season.

According to reports, the Haas F1 team has voted not to allow Force India to collect their 2016 prize money in January. Prize money is not usually distributed during the pre-season, although Force India regularly collects their prize money in advance to help with the costs of developing a new car.

According to the Formula One regulations, teams are permitted to request their prize money in advance, but they are required to gain permission to do so from all of their rivals. According to reports, all of the teams voted to allow the request, except the Haas F1 Team.

With the fourth place finish in the World Constructors’ Championship, Force India is expected to collect estimated earnings of €120m. Because they were unable to receive the money in advance, Force India will need to wait until the scheduled payout date in May to receive the prize money. This could leave the team short on funds for the development season.

Both teams were contacted for a statement, but neither party replied within the allotted time.
