Lewis Hamilton was sidelined today following discomfort in his foot from training on Tuesday. As a result, Hamilton opted not to participate in Pirelli’s tyre test in Barcelona.
Although he was originally scheduled to be in the car for Pirelli’s second-last 2017 tyre test in Barcelona, Hamilton was complaining of a sore foot following his training on Tuesday. In order to allow his foot to rest and prevent any injuries or strains, the Brit decided that it would be best not to take part in the tyre test on Wednesday. Nico Rosberg replaced him on Wednesday, while Pascal Wehrlein filled in on Thursday.
Hamilton has not yet tested the 2017 Pirelli tyres. The next tyre test will be following the final round of the Championship in Abu Dhabi.
At this time, all is well with Hamilton and he is not at risk of missing the United States Grand Prix.
