After seeing an ill Eddie Jordan set a fastest lap time which was well off of the pace set by Coulthard, the Red Bull Racing Sim Challenge returns to its regular pace with Steve Jones in control of the simulator. Can he set the fastest lap of the challenge or at least beat the other competitors who have taken part in the challenge?
Famous members around the Formula One paddock will take the wheel of the Red Bull Formula One simulator for The Red Bull Racing Sim Challenge series. Former Red Bull driver, David Coulthard, started the challenge by setting a benchmark lap time of 1:17.960 at Red Bull’s virtual recreation of the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Participants in the challenge will attempt to beat Coulthard’s lap time. However, beating the lap time will not be easy, given that Coulthard has competed in 247 Grand Prix over the course of his 14 year Formula One career.
Beginning his career as a model, Jones quickly moved into the field of television presenting, getting his first gig hosting The Pop Factory Awards on ITV. He has become a regular on T4, a weekend entertainment programme on Channel 4. He has presented various programs on many prestigious TV networks, such as ITV, Sky, BBC, Fox and Channel 4. He is known in the Formula One world for his current job as the lead anchor for Channel 4’s coverage of Formula One.
Having been involved in a car accident on the same day that he completed the Red Bull Racing Sim Challenge, can he use his new experience to avoid crashing in the simulator? And how will his lap time stack up compared to his Channel 4 colleagues’: David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan?
