Mercedes has been the center of some conspiracy theories following another horrific qualifying for the reigning World Champion and another race victory for Nico Rosberg, strengthening his World Drivers’ Championship lead. Many believe that the team is responsible for interfering with Lewis Hamilton’s race results, but Hamilton tells his supporters to trust his team.

In 2014 and 2015, Hamilton won a staggering amount of races for the team, helping them to win the World Constructors’ Championship and giving himself the World Drivers’ Championship. However, things have not gone to plan in 2016. In Bahrain, Hamilton was involved in a first lap accident. In China, he suffered from an MGU-H failure that caused him to start from last on the grid. In Russia, he suffered a repeat MGU-H failure during qualifying and suffered some other mechanical issues throughout the race, which prevented him from battling with his teammate.

Lewis Hamilton reached out to his social media followers, sharing a Facebook post in which he asks for fans to trust that his team hasn’t done and unjust towards him:

As a result of Hamilton’s issues, Nico Rosberg has been able win all four races in the season and has allowed him to create a 43 point gap to his teammate. Despite Hamilton’s sudden decline from 2015, the team and Hamilton still insist that Rosberg is winning fairly and not as a result of anything that the team are doing against Hamilton.
