Many fans were expecting that the new Renault F1 Team would feature their classic yellow and black livery that they wore before they exited the sport at the end of 2010. This wasn’t the case when Renault launched their RS16 in Paris in February, as they revealed a black livery. However, Renault has launched a revised livery ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.
During a media launch in Melbourne on Wednesday, Renault revealed their new livery for the 2016 season. It features more of the colours that we are used to seeing on a Renault. The livery is mostly yellow, but the team decided to keep some of the black on the livery because their fans did express a lot of enthusiasm during pre-season testing.
This change was largely expected, as the team had been hinting around on social media and in the press that it would like to modify the livery prior to the season opener in Australia. Although the car may look nice, the team had some difficulties with reliability during testing. We will have to see if the team has managed to iron out these issues when the2016 Formula One season begins this upcoming weekend at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit.
