Purple Ultrasoft Tyre To Make Debut In Canada

Pirelli’s new P Zero Purple ultrasoft tyre will make its debut at the Canadian Grand Prix, as Pirelli announces the tyre lineup for the race weekend in Montreal.

The ultrasoft tyre is the softest tyre in 2016 tyre range and it will make its first debut outside of pre-season testing at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Drivers will have the option to use the ultrasoft tyres during the race, but will also have one set of these tyres assigned for the final qualifying session.

Pirelli have selected their three softest compounds for the weekend: P Zero Yellow soft, P Zero Red supersoft, P Zero Purple ultrasoft for the race weekend. Drivers are free to select their tyre allocations for the weekend, but will be required to use at least one set of the P Zero Yellow soft tyres on race day.

The Formula One teams will hit the track in Montreal, Canada on the weekend of June 10, with the race starting on June 12.
