The weekend was dominated Lewis Hamilton, in terms of performance. He was able to earn a grand chelem this weekend, scoring the pole position, fastest lap and leading all of the laps in the race. His teammate, Nico Rosberg, was not able to finish the race because of an engine failure with two laps remaining in the race. However, Mercedes could potentially be disqualified from the race because of a technical regulation violation in regards to tyre pressures. This could potentially happen to Ferrari.

Lotus had a horrific weekend. It was a big question as to whether the trucks would even arrive in Italy due to some legal troubles. Their weekend had a premature end with two retirements quite early in the race. Kimi Räikkönen recovered great from an issue on the grid. His car simply didn’t go when the lights went out and he fell back to nearly last position. Despite this, he made his way through the pack in spectacular fashion to get fifth position.

Overall, a pretty normal race. It will be a very interesting post-race though, as we await a decision from the FIA towards the tyre pressure issues.
