As usual, the British Grand Prix didn’t disappoint. This year’s event was the best race of the 2015 season, so far. Mercedes took another 1-2 finish, with Lewis Hamilton crossing the line first in front of his home Grand Prix. With complaints about how Formula One is boring, this exciting race was very much needed.

Mercedes had a slow launch off of the grid, allowing Williams to take the lead. A first lap accident took out both Lotus cars and Jenson Button’s McLaren and brought out the safety car. Valtteri Bottas wanted to pass the slower Felipe Massa, but team orders prevented him from doing so. When he was given permission to overtake, he wasn’t fast enough to do so. Mercedes took the lead during some pits stops. Multiple rain showers occurred in the second half of the race. There was plenty of pit strategy confusion and the Williams cars were struggling for rear end grip in the wet conditions, meaning that they would not be able to challenge Mercedes from the win.
