This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, U.S. What started as a tiny local auto show so many years ago has transformed into an international event and managed to bring in over 800 000 people from around the world this year. I’ve had the opportunity to visit the event with a friend in my pre-Racing Clothesline days. This year was a blast. I got to meet many Formula One fans, auto enthusiasts and even a Racing Clothesline reader. It doesn’t matter what motor sport you like; this event is very enjoyable.
There were a variety of different motor vehicles from many different manufacturers. The old and the new; the street cars and the racing cars; IndyCar, NASCAR, Formula-E, WEC, WRC, Formula One. You name it and the auto show has it. The only thing that the auto show is lacking, is Ferrari’s presence. The highlight for all of the Formula One enthusiasts was certainly the appearance of the World Championship winning Mercedes W05 and the World Constructors’ Championship trophy. However that wasn’t the only F1 car there. There was an older Red Bull car with an updated livery, a ‘64 Honda and some very old Alfa Romeo Grand Prix cars from the ’51 and ’32.
The North American International Auto Show is an event that I would definitely suggest to anyone who will be traveling to the Detroit area during January of 2016. Even if you are not close to the region, it is a trip worth taking. I came over from across the Canadian border, which isn’t really that far of a journey, but it was still an memorable experience. I have attached favourite photos from the show to the bottom of this article for you to check out. Tell me what you think in the comments on this article.
