After a rather rocky 2014 season, it has been confirmed that Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will be on the same team again. It was a tight battle in 2014 and it turned out that Hamilton took his second World Drivers’ Championship title from Nico Rosberg. It came down to the wire, but an unfortunate mechanical failure through Rosberg out of contention at the final race of the year in Abu Dhabi. Hamilton and Rosberg were responsible for giving the fans one of the closest championship battles in years.

Having this pair of experienced drivers on the same team will create a very powerful lineup. Momentum will be on Hamilton’s side, after winning the title and multiple races last season. Based on the performance of the Mercedes cars in the 2014 season, it is reasonable to believe that this success will carry over into this season. If both drivers are back on top of the pyramid, tension will more than likely be high. There were some conflicts between the teammates – or rivals – that added to the temper of the pair. Although the pair both showed their respect at the end of the season, neither driver will be willing to let the other have the edge. This means that we should look forward to the same battles between the Mercedes duo in 2015, as we saw at the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, with the same intense battles, we could see the same drama. We shouldn’t expect to see Rosberg and Hamilton hanging out together too much in 2015. They will both give each other the same amount of respect as they did in 2014, but they may also be carrying the grudge.

In terms of standings and driving performance, Mercedes will have a winning lineup. Both drivers have a significant amount of Formula One racing years and success. But if you had to pick a driver that will lead the lineup… Hamilton should be on top of that list. After his performance in the 2014 season, he has been given the title of most successful British Formula One driver in the history of the sport. He managed to win a vast majority of the races in 2014 and now has two titles to his name. On the other hand, Rosberg hasn’t managed to earn a World Drivers’ Championship title and may be discouraged after his difficulties last season. Not to mention, Rosberg seems to crack under pressure.

No matter who is leading the championship, the Mercedes team will always put all of their effort into winning and they should have a lineup capable of doing that. This season should be a great one for Mercedes and it would definitely be possible for them to take another World Constructors’ Championship.
