It’s that time of the Formula One season again… the summer break. For those of you that may be new to the sport of Formula One or just don’t know what the summer break is; it is a one month period in which there are no races and most team facilities are closed. It was created as a way to save teams money. Saving money means that the teams have more money to spend on developing the most advanced and best performing cars, but the downside that will drive many hardcore fans insane is that there is no racing.

To many, Formula One racing can become an addiction. Like drugs, coffee or candy; once you have gotten a taste, you can never have enough. I will be fighting my Formula One withdrawal by writing articles for my Formula One blog and by hanging out with friends. I will admit that I will miss Formula One during this month which will feel like an eternity and along with writing articles and hanging with friends, I will most likely spend the rest of my free time racing on my F1 2010 PC game.

I asked other Formula One fanatics, via social media, what they will be doing to help pass the time and here is what they had to say:

“sleeping as much as i can to let the time pass by faster ;)“ – Birol Cin

The Sauber F1 Team says:

“320 team members, everyone with their own plans… For most of us it will be spending the time with friends and family with as little F1 talks and thoughts as possible 😉 For all of you it should be checking out our great videos on www.youtube.com/sauberf1team! :-)”

Whatever you are planning to do while you wait for Formula One to finally return, I would like to wish you all a safe summer break.
