It is safe to say that the 2014 has been filled with surprises and close battles, the closest being the Mercedes duo. Nico Rosberg currently leads the season, but Lewis Hamilton is not far behind. Going into Britain, Hamilton will be trying to take the lead and cut down on Rosberg’s lead. With the more successful car this season, team Mercedes has blown the competition way and took away all hopes of a Red Bull championship. Hamilton didn’t have the best luck in qualifying; only gaining a P6 starting position. Despite this, I think that we will for sure see him take a victory. Like the previous races this season, we will certainly see both Mercedes drivers in a hardcore battle.

With a slower car, Red Bull will be trying to put in a good finish. It will be nearly impossible to beat the Mercedes car, but we will most likely see Daniel Ricciardo take the bottom step of the podium. All hopes are gone for the defending champion. Mechanical failures have been a fate that Sebastian Vettel has witnessed too many times this season. He will be starting from the front row of the grid, but his goal should be to just finish this race.

Of course we cannot forget the newer talent, particularly that of Sergio Perez. In a car that lacks the pace of other teams, he has been able to perform quite well. While many others turn their back on the Force India driver, I think that he should be able to finish in the top five. As for the fifth position, Jenson Button is experienced enough that he should be able to remain in the top five from a third place start.

My Top 5 Prediction

1 Lewis Hamilton
2 Nico Rosberg
3 Daniel Ricciardo
4 Sergio Perez
5 Jenson Button
